Protein : A chemical breakdown

All protein in your body is made up of amino acids. It is estimated that the human body has the ability to generate over 1 million different types of proteins. Believe it or not, 10,000 different proteins may exist in a single cell of your body AND each one requires a different arrangement of amino acids.

There are a total of 22 different types of amino acids. The body’s cells connect these amino acids to create each specific protein. Your body efficiently assesses with precision which protein is needed and produces it.

 

 

What are amino acids?  There is no satisfying or simple answer here. They are an organic compound that is literally found and used in almost every process in our body. It contains Amine, A Carboxyl Group (way to take you back to Biology), and one of many varying chains. But as it relates to protein we have simplification:
