January’s Here

December my folks was not the most graceful of months. Since Turkey day I did what I could do stay on the more vegan side of life, but it wasn’t easy. Why is cheese so damned delicious?

But it’s over and so is SLACKING.

Get out all of your black pants and black shirts. That’s right everyday at the gym is a funeral for your fat. Burn baby Burn. Its the first full week of the first month of the 2013. Start it right!

For those of you don’t think about the gym, and those working out once or twice a week, this month, the challenge is to do thirty minutes of cardio everyday. That’s right every day. There’s no excuse. Even running in place is cardio, and you don’t need high performance tops, Lulu Lemon, or the most expensive multicolored running sneakers to do it.

Here are some great ways to get your heart rate up, sweat a little bit, and burn calories. From here we can build a foundation and incorporate a full routine.

Don’t get ahead of yourself. One step at a time. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. And call me in the morning. ;)

Pick one of the below exercises and do it for thirty seconds. Take about the same time or less in rest and do it again. In the living room, kitchen, anywhere really, just look at the clock and keep moving.

High Knees

Jumping Jacks

Mountain Climbers

Jumping Lunges

Switch Kicks

Toe Taps

Jump Squats

Challenge: Do each exercise in succession for one awesome cardio routine.
